In the middle of 2019, Foster, David Chipfield, Zaha and others who won the Stirling Prize Architecture The company called on British architects to implement "behavior change" on climate change. Foster is the first company to commit to designing only carbon neutral designs by 2030. Then, Ar-69 Architecture Studio, including Rogers Stickeport+Partners, made a statement: "The double crisis of climate destruction and biodiversity loss is the most serious problem of our time. For everyone in the construction industry, meeting social needs without destroying the ecological boundary of the earth will need to change our behavior mode. But what we need now is collective research, which is what we lack."
The global climate crisis has become the focus of attention in many areas of people's lives. How to curb the current climate change and prevent its consequences is the focus of attention. One of the main factors causing the crisis is our energy production model. Generally speaking, a large amount of production waste will be left behind the traditional power generation, releasing a large number of air and water pollutants and some non renewable resources. It is the social responsibility of architects in the era to adopt the principle of regenerative design and realize zero carbon net emission of buildings. We selected 19 construction projects providing solutions as examples. These energy processing methods are so successful that some buildings generate too much energy supply to nearby buildings.
Switzerland Swatch Omega Park/Banmao Architecture Design
The newly completed Swatch and Omega campuses are composed of three buildings, which is a commemorative wooden building project. These three buildings are: the skyscraper office of Swatch headquarters, the Omega factory producing Omega watches, and the exhibition museum known as the "City of Time". The three buildings maintain a high degree of consistency in terms of design language, material tone, environmental atmosphere, etc., to express the unity of the Swatch Omega brand, and express the individual characteristics of each building through the adjustment of structural form.
Pittsburgh is committed to the cultivation of urban forests. It hopes to establish a sustainable headquarters, so that employees and volunteers can easily access 100000 trees they participate in cultivating and planting every year. The prefabricated modules are transported to the site. They are fixed by foundation piles that tamp the soil instead of replacing the existing soil. The doors and windows of strategic layout capture the landscape and introduce light. A long linear porch can be used as an outdoor space for employees to relax and meet with guests. It is conducive to achieving the goal of zero energy consumption of solar photovoltaic panels. A 3000 gallon thermostatic water tank provides drinking water for the campus; When the water supply is insufficient, the sensor will remind the staff.
Paris Lonchamp is a world-famous high difficulty track, which is also the learning goal of similar environmental facilities in the climate plan formulated by the Paris Municipal Government. Measures include establishing a more natural site to encourage future planting. Due to innovative design, it also integrates passive and active systems to encourage the use of renewable energy and energy independence of buildings; This is where Langshang is more flexible and can welcome more people with different ethnic conditions.
The museum of contemporary art planning (mocape) is a part of the overall planning of Futian Cultural District, the new city center of Shenzhen, China. The project combines two independent but unified institutions: the Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) and the Planning Exhibition Hall (PE) as the venue for cultural gatherings and architectural exhibitions. Its functions are very comprehensive, including the lobby, multi-function exhibition hall, auditorium, conference room and service area. Building technology equipment aims to reduce the overall demand for external energy: non polluting systems and facilities use renewable energy through solar energy and geothermal energy (using groundwater cooling system) to achieve energy conservation of building systems. The roof of the museum filters sunlight for the exhibition room, reducing the need for artificial lighting.
Lausanne Aquarium/Richter Dahl Rocha& Associs
The aquarium is part of the Bioscience Park, which also includes a hotel and 1200 parking spaces. The physical design of energy systems and buildings is committed to improving energy utilization as much as possible and achieving sustainable development. The thermal performance of the building "skin" has also been further improved. At the same time, through the docking of Lausanne's urban industrial services, the building's remote heating system will use the heat generated by domestic waste incineration to generate only a small amount of greenhouse gases. The refrigeration of the whole building comes from high-performance refrigeration equipment, and the environment-friendly coolant is used to optimize the heat recovery system. The centralized management of the two buildings optimizes the cooperation between the two types of users, ensures the reliability of equipment operation, and improves energy efficiency.
Blox is the headquarters of Danish Architecture Center (DAC), including exhibition space, office, joint office space, coffee shop, bookstore, fitness center, restaurant, 22 apartments and an underground automatic public parking lot. Comfort and life flexibility are important elements of Blox durability. The building is isolated from road noise and vibration, and has the construction technology of highway bridges and high thermal insulation external walls. The exterior wall of the office is all glass to ensure a good view and reduce the use of lighting energy. Lighting and user work lights with low energy consumption are adopted, and lighting and facade shading are controlled by central daylight or users. The building also has a high-quality heat recovery device, which uses the heating and cooling system based on seawater cooling and waste heat power generation in Copenhagen.
National Renewable Energy Laboratory
The $135 million Energy System Integration Facility (esif) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, is a model of sustainable design and energy efficiency performance. It was awarded LEED platinum rating by the U.S. Green Building Council. Aiming at the strict low energy consumption rate, the team adopted a series of advanced technologies and better practices to balance the energy and performance objectives of the building: 1) doors and windows to promote natural cooling and ventilation; 2) The solar fan helps to absorb the heat in the office environment; 3) Vertical and horizontal external shading devices control the sunlight entering the building, reducing the absorption of solar heat; 4) Large scale (5) The lights in offices and laboratories are turned off from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every day; And (6) the waste heat of the data center is collected and used for heating facilities in winter, and exported to other places in the park.
